Election 08 - Can’t Wait…
It’s true: I can’t.
A clean slate, a new start. A slew of possible candidates that I would consider voting for:
John McCain - early favorite. I’ve been wanting to vote for this guy for years.
Rudy Giuliani - sentimental favorite. Grace under pressure. Cleaned up The City and kept it sane during its darkest hour.
Hillary Clinton - While she drives many up the wall, she has time to formulate some policies. Her healthcare program was ahead of its time. Could she be the American Margaret Thatcher?
John Edwards - young, but a trial lawyer who made his fortune off of suing doctors. I’m married to a doctor, and he’s not popular among the stethoscope-wearing set; but I’ll keep an open mind.
Barak Obama - young and black, with charisma and a sharp mind to match.
Colin Powell - America hasn’t done well with Generals turned President, but this guy could be different.
Arnold Schwarzenegger - long shot because it requires an amendment - sure to be blocked by Dems. Proof that the American dream still exists. Fun to imagine the Terminator as President, and one who could bench-press the entire G7 leadership.
2008 is only 4 years away, with the race beginning to firm up in 2 short years. For you Kerry loving Bush haters, there is a bright future ahead.

Scott,
Just when I thought you had gone completely right-wing, you show me that you’re still quite the freethinker. You’re right, ‘08 does look quite bright. Now, if only the far right could even contemplate thinking outside the box!

Kerry made me look Conservative. To paraphrase Aerosmith “I’m back in the Center again… I’m back!”

Scott,
I’m the same way. When I hear extreme rhetoric, I tend to move the opposite direction to create some balance or another perspective. This has led my very conservative friends to see me as liberal and my very liberal friends to see me as conservative. It seems being in the center (I see myself as a Progressive Moderate) confuses the extremes.

P.S. When you visit St. louis again, give me a call. By the by, I just bought a house. Hopefully I’ll stay in business long enough to pay for it.

Scott, Continuing our convo about blogs from National Debate. This link shows the latest betwen Dean & I. As with my discussion w you, I’ve always been civil w Esmay, yet he has not returned same, and in the middle of a convo that was not even w him he banned me.
This is the essential diff and why blogs have a long way to go b4 credibility can be established. When hemmed in and unable to respond intelligently, the blogger acts like a child. I’m sure this had more to do w our debate, because Dean didn’t wanna show his true colors on another’s blog, but it’s sad nonetheless. Good luck w yr blog. DAN
