Dead Blogs

Filed under: — site admin @ 11:37 am

The Razor recently passed it’s 3rd anniversary. It was born in the Post-911 Explosion of blogs in Oct 2001, received it’s first (and only) Instalanch in Jan 2002 - and has soldiered on as one by one other blogs have disappeared from the blogosphere.

This got me to wondering: What is your favorite dead blog?

My favorite Dead Blog is Zach Barbera’s “Voice From the Commonwealth” - which you can see here (should we call blogs that haven’t been updated in a long time but still appear “zombies"?). Zach was (is - he’s not dead) a good writer with an eye for the absurdity of politics. As a Libertarian in MA, I guess it came with the territory. “VOC” provided a unique perspective on the news that I miss, although Dean Esmay has appeared to take Zach’s place in my daily reading. Still, Dean writes from Michigan, which isn’t quite the left-wing ghetto as MA is, and I still miss the unique musings found only at “VOC".

So, this being the blogosphere, here’s the chance to speak out: what is your favorite “Dead Blog"?
The only rule is that the blog must be inactive for over 1 year. This disqualifies Den Beste’s USS Clueless.

  1. I know the rule…but I have to ask, what happened to allahpundit?? His site had languished un-updated since Boston won the series and as of today, the site now no longer exists. What gives? He was one of my favs! Though now that I’ve discovered your blog I will definitely be back…:-)

  2. I’m worried about Allah too. I think the Yankees loss really hurt him.

  3. I had just discovered Allapundit’s site. Vanished like an Islamic dissident . . .
