Chimps Seen Using Spears to Hunt
Chimpanzees are capable of making spears to hunt other primates and have been seen using the weapons to apparently kill bushbabies for meat, scientists announced today.
What’s next? I suppose a chimpanzee anti-spear movement, followed by the “spears don’t kill bushbabies, chimpanzees do,” anti-anti-spear movement.
Given the progress of primate researchers, it won’t surprise me to see a headline stating that they’ve been seen using hunting rifles to kill monkeys for meat – or found using chainsaws to make their nests.
After all, they’ve been employed as chaperones for years…
