Party Like It’s 1982…
Thanks to Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/http://audacity.sourceforge.net/http://audacity.sourceforge.net/- the open source audio mixer.
I have an extensive cassette tape collection from the 1980’s and early 1990’s. Most of this stuff was recorded from an even more extensive vinyl collection. I still have some gems on vinyl, like this:

Unfortunately, most of that tape is fading, as magnetic media is prone to do. Worse, it’s taken up gobs of space in the basement without being listened to.
So, thanks to Audacity, a $5 stereo cable from Radio Shack, and Taiyo Yuden CD-R media, I’m listening to Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons as I begin the task of converting the emotional yearnings of a teenager into the emotional baggage of a middle aged man. Well, putting it that way I’m off to dose up on my geritol…

I just bought on ebay a turntable with a usb cable, I can burn CD’s from vinyl. [Hey, I’m old enough to remember when records were made from shellac!]
8 February 2007, 8:37 pmI have a great record from I think the late sixties for anyone with young kids, The Simon Sisters [Lucy and Carly] singing songs for children. You can find that on ebay too, I just got a new copy as mine was pretty old. They sing songs such as, The Owl and the Pussycat, Calico Pie, The Little Lamb [Blake], My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose etc.
