Are Jews Second Class Citizens in America?
This writer in the JPost thinks so. Her solution? To stand up for the Jewish Americans accused of passing secrets to the Jewish lobby AIPAC:
If the American Jewish community wishes to mitigate the damage this episode has already done to its good name and reputation, it must unify behind Rosen and Weissman and insist that the charges against them be dropped. And if AIPAC wishes to continue to be viewed as the main American Jewish lobbying organization in the US capital, it should be advised by its members and by its colleagues to lead the charge.
I have a simpler solution: Israel must immediately cease and desist its spying operations targeting the US.
As I wrote in a comment that may or may not be posted on the article, it seems to me that the damage done when the spying is unearthed far outweighs the benefits in intelligence Israel gets.
Israel is clearly not spying to learn about its enemies in the Middle East. The Israeli intelligence services are second to none when it comes to infiltration of all levels of Arab society and government. Therefore the intelligence must be targeting legislators – to which I ask:
Why? What secrets could the average American senator hold that would be worth jeopardizing the “special relationship” between the US and Israel?
Every anti-Semite is anti-American. When you see a bunch of terrorist-wanna-bees jumping up and down screaming “Death to Israel” you can bet that the next chorus begins “Death to America”. Even our home-grown nutjobs believe that the Jews already OWN the government – so it’s not like Israel is going to learn anything to protect itself from them.
Instead you will get blowback – so why spy on the US in the first place?
