The Left vs. Little Girls

Filed under: — site admin @ 7:56 am

UPDATE: 9-24-04: Dana C sends this link to a Sun Times article that shows Mr. Parlock has had similar run-ins like this in the past. While some on the Left have suggested the union-worker was his son, no proof has been presented to testify to that fact.

Parlock may be a poor parent for dragging his kids to an event like this, but the fact remains:
He has the right to bear the sign of any candidate he supports, and the union thug doesn’t have a right to tear it away.

Besides, since when has a Democratic rally become a dangerous place for kids anyway?

UPDATE: The General President of the The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, James A. Williams, has issued an apology for the incident here. Money quote:

It is my hope that this incident reminds all of our members that every last citizen in this country has the right to express his or herself freely. Not one single one of us has the right to tell them otherwise.

Kudos to the IUPAT for being real men by apologizing.

Via Instapundit and Dean Esmay:
Little Girl
“Three-year-old Sophia Parlock cries while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va.”

It seems the Left can’t stand up to real men and women, so they have to attack kids. I’m not violent by nature, but you want to help me get in touch with my inner wolverine, go mess with kids.

Reverse the situation:
A Kerry supporter brings his 3 year old to a Bush rally.
Would the little girl have her sign ripped up?
And if she did, how many parents like me would be all over the asshole who made a little girl cry?

Parenting trumps party affiliation everytime.

It takes a real man to make a 3 year old cry.
Look at the KerryMoron in the back, not only are Kerry supporters thugs, they are fucking idiots, How about not holding the sign upside down ass clown.

Ok RL, so your big “busting” of the story by the DU and all them have shown that he has tried the same thing several times.
Ummm, why the hell wouldn’t he? So he is a bit provocative about it? So he goes in and brings his kids with him?
He still did not make any single union member rip up his sign. It was not staged. You still can’t get beyond the fact of what happened. You are making it sound like insurance fraud, when it really is just the guy got in too many accidents.

What happened is a fake news event for sheeple idiots. Look at how easy it is to get you and yours to take the bait. Better that Bush’s model, or rather the East German model is used. No non-loyalists allowed. Only State approved messages.

Follow the real story and be a man and make an apology and admit your error.

    Chad -

Parlock can bring all the signs he wants to all the kerry rallies he wants, from now until the end of time. More power to him.

I posted the link because I had just read that story when I read Scott’s post here.

If some IUPAT member tore up the sign, that IUPAT member is an asshole. If Parlock staged it using his son as a fake IUPAT member, Parlock’s an asshole and a fraud. You claim it wasn’t staged, but what’s your basis for making that statement? How the f*#k do you know whether it was staged or not?

My opinion — you don’t know, so don’t make the claim. Feel free to prove me wrong.

    Scott -

Don’t know if anyone has had a sign torn up at a Bush rally, but there is a young woman who was kicked by a delegate at the Republican convention while whe was held down by security. I’d love to have five minutes of that young man’s time. Don’t need anyone to hold him down for me, either.

There are assholes all around. Don’t think Bush supporters hold any high moral ground on that count.

    Cheers -

    PS to Veruka’s America -

I have no idea why that guy is holding the Kerry sign upside down. That *is* pretty dumb.

This story is getting moldy, but I don’t have the gravitas (The Word of the Day) of Dan Rather that allows me to say whatever I want and get away with it.

    1. If the event is private, then the organizers can exclude anyone they want. That goes for the RNC and DNC.

    2. If the event is public, then civic laws (disturbing the peace) hold sway (the grey area, I know) - so disruptive elements can be arrested. However holding a sign is not disruptive, but shouting, banging drums, whatever would be. Then the police and organizers would need to separate the protestors from the supporters.

The loyalty oaths - if true (and Dana presented two newspaper articles that claims they are) - are a joke. They would seem to hand ammo to Bush opponents who fear Ashcroft and warn against the slide into facism. While I was vehemently against Ashcroft 4 years ago, I know what fascism is and the Bush II admin isn’t it. Fire the guy who thought of this one.

As for making a little girl cry… Let’s make this clear.
A little girl could be holding a picture of Osama bin Laden and I would not rip it up.

Being mean to kids is just wrong.

I might take issue with their parents - but not when their kids are around.

Now can we talk about something else, please?

if you think Kerry supporters are members of “The Left,” you are stupid as they are. Democrats are not Left. They are not even “liberal.” They would be Republicans if they could. Statists are statists, no matter what stupid animal or stupider candidate they choose to represent them.
