Unfit for Command - Initial Impression

Filed under: — site admin @ 1:10 pm

Just a note that I finally got my hands on this book, but I haven’t looked at it except for the photos.

By the way, those photos are pretty damning. No one has mentioned the museum in Ho Chi Minh City that proudly displays pics and quotes of Kerry on the walls, nor the numerous photos of Kerry with the unwashed hippies. For you Kerry-ites, imagine W. shaking hands with George Wallace and hanging with John Birchers. Yeah, it’s a bit like that…

Except Bush never did those things; Kerry did. I will be blogging the book as I read it.

…or like Bush’s number one man in the pentagon shaking hands with Saddam Hussein, for example?

  2. Scott Says:

Yeah, I thought of that - but that was Rumsfeld. And if memory serves, he was Reagan’s special envoy.

And Rumsfeld doesn’t want to be commander in chief. Kerry does.

    Hey Scott -

I’ll be interested in your thoughts on the book when you actually read it, but your comments about the pictures are pretty weak stuff.

The museum in Ho City had pictures of Kerry because he opposed the war, and we was right to do so. Are you saying that he should not have done so because the N. Vietnamese made political hay out of it?

And — “unwashed hippies”? In 1971? What’s your point?

Couldn’t find any pictures of Bush hanging with Wallace or the Birchers, but I did find snaps of his appearance at good old Bob Jones University in 2000. Ashcroft’s your guy if you are looking for that Bircher/crypto southern nationalist connection.

    Cheers -
